Commercial Installation, LLC, LLC was founded in 1999 here in Clarksville, TN. We started out installing commercial doors and hardware, which is still a cornerstone of our business. We have since added divisions focusing on the installation of aluminum and glass storefront, partitions, wall protection and construction specialties. We are focused on the Clarksville and Nashville markets with projects ranging from small renovations to new high rise commercial and residential developments.

Senior Glazier

Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated, thorough, and organized Senior Glazier to join our growing Glass and Glazing team. In this position, you will be responsible for project personnel, schedules, budgets, customers, suppliers, tracking inventory, managing materials, installation, fabrication and replacement of aluminum storefront frames & entrances, glass handrails, curtain wall framing, showers, and glass & mirror walls. Responsibilities

  • Review of contract, specifications, drawings, scope, schedule and budget.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Develop plan to create schedule, budget and resource requirements for projects.
  • Manage labor, materials and equipment.
  • Attend on-site meetings with general contractor and/or architect as required.
  • Prepare cut list for fabrication from field dimensions.
  • Provide detailed daily/weekly progress reports.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates and process change orders.
  • Coordinate responsibilities with general contractor to ensure compliance with schedule and budget.
  • Complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentor junior staff members and delegate responsibilities as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • 3+ years field experience in glass & glazing field.
  • Experience managing a team of employees and multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand product specifications, structural and architectural drawings, shop drawings and engineering calculations/reports.
  • Strong knowledge of glazing systems, materials, processes and equipment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Fabricator

Summary

You will oversee and perform any combination of the following tasks to receive, store, fabricate and maintain materials, tools, equipment, and products within the establishment. Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Develop working knowledge of all doors, hardware, glass and glazing industry.
  • Accurately Read and Interpret Drawings
  • Provide complete and accurate fabrication of all assigned projects.
  • Facilitate daily, weekly and monthly reporting in accordance with SOPs.
  • Develop and maintain a maintenance program for the entire set of tools and equipment.
  • Accept incoming shipments from shippers or vendors. 
  • Ensure adherence to the established processes.
  • Be Attentive to Detail, communicate effectively with Management and Others.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be fabricated.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated area by hand, forklift, or other. 
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or pack and forward to shipping department. 
  • Records amount of materials or items received or distributed. 
  • Verify quantities and count independently as required. 
  • Assist with material warehousing needs. 
  • Prepare all-inclusive material shipments as required. 
  • Inspect equipment for proper operation. 
  • Clear all Shop Orders in a timely manner.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level. 
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. 

Essential Skill Sets

  • 1+ years of Warehouse Management experience preferred
  • Operate a Windows Based Computer System
  • Must can set up and operating a wide range of fabrication and welding equipment to include but not limited to: band saw, cut off saw, miter saw, Tiger Stop system, shears, brake press, Storefront Punch, weld, and various power tools.
  • Must make complex setups and hold close tolerances in the fabrication and weld manufacturing cycle of a variety of parts made from various materials and configurations
  • Employee is responsible for maintaining/improving housekeeping standard in his/her work area and adhering to established safety rules and practices
  • Must understand company computerized time and attendance system and independently execute assigned responsibilities. Examples of those responsibilities are: clocking in and out upon arrival and departure from work, close production order operations when work is complete, etc.
  • Basic operational knowledge of forklift and materials handling equipment 
  • Prior industry experience a plus

Installer in Training

Summary

Installer in Training consists of on-the-job training to install the following building materials:

  • Hollow metal doors and frames
  • Wood doors
  • Finish hardware on doors and frames
  • Toilet partitions and washroom accessories
  • Fire extinguisher cabinets
  • Wall protection
  • Other building specialties

Applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds and have own hand tools.   Valid driver’s license is required.  Applicant must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background screening (to work in schools). Applicant is expected to be punctual, reliable, honest, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and have a good attitude.  Starting hourly wage is $10 – $14 per hour.
